These chicken strips are bang bang flavor gang delicious!
INGREDIENTS:
1 boneless skinless chicken breast
2 cups buttermilk
1 tbsp W Sauce
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 cups flour
¼ cup six gun grill seasoning or seasoning of your choice
2 tsp cornstarch
1 tsp black pepper
5 cups peanut or vegetable oil for frying
RECIPE:
Pound chicken breast so it is more uniform in thickness. Cut lengthwise into 5 strips, then cut those strips in half (leave whole if you like longer strips).
Mix buttermilk, W sauce, lemon juice and black pepper. Place strips into buttermilk marinade and soak for 2 hours.
Fill your deep fryer or frying pan with oil. Heat it to 365. While the oil is heating, place your flour into a bowl or tupperware and season it to taste! This step is critical! If your flower is bland, your strips will be bland! TASTE YOUR FLOUR MIXTURE!
Take your marinated strips and coat them in flour, then dunk them in the marinade again, then back into the flour making sure to press the chicken into the flour to make sure every nook and cranny is properly dredged.
Drop your chicken into the fryer and cook 4-6 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. If you are using a frying pan and they aren’t submerged, you will want to flip them halfway through.
Place finished strips on a rack to cool or on a plate lined with a paper towel. Serve with homemade ranch dressing!
